Para sa Rex, Para sa Bata
Celebrating both the past and the future
65 years of making differences in our countrymen’s lives is a feat to applaud, and last September 29, Rex Bookstore, the Philippine’s leading educational publishing company, did just that.
That evening, Rex celebrated its 65th Anniversary at the SMX Convention Center, inviting 1,000 special guests to join Rex once again on their journey, remembering its rich history and anticipating its new advocacy as well.
The registration area welcomed guests with a Rex photo wall and a detailed timeline of their milestones. Customized USB ballers were also being fitted on guests' wrists as they entered - a unitary, tangible symbol of something bigger, yet to be revealed later that night.
Once inside the venue, the elegant ambiance was not hard to miss - the spaciousness of the hall was illuminated by beautiful crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a colorful play of lights directed at the grand stage. The stage was articulately designed, showing off the vibrant red, blue and yellow colors of Rex, with large LED screens playing visuals on loop and soft instrumentals setting the mood.
The set-up emanated class and cheer, with exquisite flower arrangements by Robert Blancaflor accentuating the royal blue and white scheme of the tables and chairs.
After guests settled down, a voiceover declared the beginning of the program, preceeding a solemn moment of prayer shared by budding child star, Alonzo Muhlach.

A singing of the Philipine National Anthem followed, led by the talented Mandaluyong Children’s Choir, in which afterwards they continued to fill the venue with harmonious music, with an inspiring rendition of "I Can".

The night’s hosts, charismatic Mr. Anthony Pangilinan and beautiful Ms. Miriam Quiambao, ensured the smooth flow of the night, both informing and interacting with the audience.

Bizu catered the night's dinner feast, buffets of delectable food fare served from each corner of the hall. The food was enjoyed alongside breath-taking performances by two of the best child performers in the Philippines: The Voice Kids Finalist, Darlene Vibares and The Voice Kids Grand Champion, Lyca Gairanod.

Afterwards, Rex brought its guests on a trip down Rex memory lane, highlighting its past but also introducing its future, revealing its newest noble endeavor, the company advocacy and sole reason behind the souvenir gifts: Para sa Bata!
It was a momentous celebration made even more special with an outstanding performance by Popstar Royalty, Sarah Geronimo! The crowd swayed along to her wholehearted rendition of the "Para sa Bata" anthem (composed by Ms. Krina Cayabyab), the Mandaluyong Children's Choir even joining her for the Grand Finale.

With a heartfelt anthem playing on the speakers, the Rex family beaming on stage, and a festive confetti blizzard falling from the sky, there was no doubt that Rex ended the evening with pure happiness and gratitude, leaving guests with the same sentiments, everyone feeling inspired and blessed to be a part of this occasion.
Cheers to Rex and 65 years!
