SAIL AWAY: The Mabuhay Maritime Express Escapade

Mabuhay Maritime Express (MME) was finally introduced and brought to life. Travelling from Kalibo to Aklan became more accessible and convenient for tourists—which is a total win situation for the country’s tourism!

To venture into traveling through the seas, PAL Holdings owner Lucio Tan, launched the newest subsidiary of Philippine Airlines, the Mabuhay Maritime Express. After the six-month closure and rehabilitation of Boracay, MME was introduced to the public eye in the right time. Everyone was eager to experience the glory of Boracay again, and MME was there to lead them to paradise.

The two ferries—namely MV Malambing and MV Magalang, are set to sail from Kalibo, Aklan to the Boracay Island. The way to Boracay became smoother and convenient for MME offers a bunch of comfortable seats, good snacks, and a breathtaking view of the various islands of the Philippines.

Present on the launch was PAL Holdings owner, Lucio Tan, along with his wife, Carmen Tan and their children, popped champagne bottles to christen the ferries and support the new business venture. "We aim to offer travelers a seamless air to sea transfer, taking passengers to their favorite tourist destinations as fast and as comfortable as possible," Jaime Bautista, President of MME, stated.

After the cruise, the party was continued in Pico De Loro wherein Bautista raised a toast, which focused on how it is most likely for MME to extend to other routes, including Bohol, Cebu, and Siargao.
